Cupping

Cupping is a use of suction cups that are placed on the skin. The cups are placed on selected parts of the body, most often used on the patient's back or on areas where there is a lot of tension.

The traditional cups are glass and are heated up with fire. Other popular varieties are using plastic, bamboo or ceramic.

The cups create a vacuum that draws up the skin to stimulate the flow of qi or life force. This process can help improve blood flow, boost immune function, release toxins and reduce tension.
